Fellowship in Gynecologic, Obstetric and Perinatal Pathology
Description:
Advanced training in gynecologic, obstetrical and perinatal pathology is
offered in the Women’s and Perinatal Division. Included in the one to two-year
program is intensive training in the pathology of benign and malignant
gynecologic disorders, trophoblastic neoplasia, teratology, obstetrical
complications, placental diseases and breast lesions. Elective time in
cytology, cytogenetics and image analysis is available. Fellows are expected
to participate in clinical or basic research and teaching. The division
accessions 15,000 surgical specimens and 100 perinatal autopsies annually;
400 new cases of malignancies of the female reproductive organs are diagnosed
each year. Cytological preparations total 53,000. Consultation is readily
available from experts in all subspecialties in pathology. Facilities are
modern and support services are of excellent quality.

Requirements: Applicants must have satisfactorily completed residency
training in anatomic pathology and have specific interests in reproductive
and gynecologic pathology.
Stipends: Depend on previous training.
